Mr. Andre Wassermann is a South African native with 42 years professional work experience in construction, programme management, financial planning, procurement and stock control.
After 16 years in SA defence force, he joined Grinaker Electronics (Grinel) in 1989, where he served for 3 years as the Admin Manager / Logistics Support Manager, in September 1991, he started his own company - Golden Lane Construction which was focused on renovations but soon started building for Telkom, Infracom, Trasnet and Department of Public Works.
While running this company, demand for his expertise all around never ceased, he then went to become the Project Manager for Group 6 Developments (Pty) Ltd in August of 2004 and grew to become senior Project manager saddled with responsibilities in Construction management, construction control and release, quality control, health and safety during construction, material management and planning, training programmes for project managers etc.
He later became Director Construction at Group 6 and was instrumental for the development of over 3,000 affordable residential housing units, commercial centers and retail outlets across South Africa in a modified PPIT system.
By 15 June 2009, He became the Director Project Management of African Housing Solutions where he coordinated the Planning, implementation and successful operation of projects in Africa (Zambia, Nigeria) and also Contract Management of international companies, FIDIC contract documentation and the application of the contract outside South Africa.
Based on his involvement with African Housing Solutions in Nigeria, he also consulted for Mubarak Multi Purpose building and Civil Engineering Estate Developer, where he supervised the conceptual infrastructure design for the Abuja River Park Village, a proposed 16,000 housing units project and many other projects.
He gained detailed knowledge of Nigeria Land law, Resettlement and compensation Law and Building and construction methods and standards in Nigeria.
While also in Nigeria, he was responsible for the success of upgrading of Palms Lekki Shopping Mall, Lagos, Nigeria, Completion of Palms Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. (15,400sqm), Construction of Palms Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria (22,500sqm), Construction of Palms Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, (15,310sqm).
He was again contacted by Bishopstrade based on previous working alliance and local understanding of the Nigeria market to serve and represent Bishopstrade as Director Technical and lead technical team in the implementation of the PPIT(tm) system in Nigeria.
