Claeys brings more than 30 years of General Business & Management experience in Logistics, Transport, Telecoms and Infrastructure projects in 12 African countries and Europe. He started his career as an accountant with the Belgian Freight Forwarding group Transintra, operating in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo, with the responsibility for the implementation of an integrated accounting, administration and Operating system.
As Director Export Project Management for Siemens Networks Africa & Middle East, he was in charge of delivering 17 mobile networks and 11 fixed networks across Africa with a total value of Euro 145 Million.
He joined the AMI Group of companies in South Africa, becoming Regional Managing Director for Southern Africa following the successful integration of all business activities (Air- Sea- and Road Freight) for the AMI operations in Botswana, South DRC, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Mr. Claeys was educated in Belgium where he obtained his degrees in Accountancy and Industrial Control. He is currently in Nigeria evaluating a wireless tower colocation investment opportunity.
